The Tampa Bay Buccaneers open their 2025-26 NFL season this week at Raymond James Stadium, looking to build on last year’s playoff appearance. Led by quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Bucs enter the new season with high expectations after a strong preseason and a strong training camp.
“ Honestly, I think the Bucs are looking really strong this year. After making the playoffs last season, there’s definitely some hype around what they can do now. Baker Mayfield has really stepped up as a leader, and with how good they looked in training camp and preseason, I feel like they’re ready to take it to the next level. It’s exciting to see the team come together like this, and I think fans—especially younger ones like me—have a lot to look forward to this season.” Said Jairius.
The Bucs finished the 2024 season with a solid record and showed signs of growth on both sides of the ball and by the looks of it have a decent chance for the super bowl. The team’s performance during training camp and preseason has fueled fans and analysts to believe the Bucs are in a position to contend for another playoff berth and possibly a deeper postseason run.
“We’ve put in the work this offseason, and we’re ready to compete,” said Mayfield during a recent media session. “This team is hungry.”
The Bucs defense has looked sharp, and the offense appears more to work good under head coach Todd Bowles. With several key returning starters and promising young talent, the team hopes to bring another Super Bowl Trophy back to Tampa.
Nicknamed “Champa Bay” during its recent championship runs, Tampa is buzzing with fans with a strong passion. While much of the spotlight will be on Mayfield, a lot depends on contributions across the roster and with making consistent plays throughout the season.
“Tampa’s energy is insane right now, and while Mayfield’s in the spotlight, the whole team needs to step up. If they can stay consistent on both sides of the ball, they’ve got a real shot at making another deep run.” Said Connor Shore.
The Buccaneers last won the Super Bowl in 2021 with Tom Brady. Since then, the team has been in a phase, now hoping to recapture that same level of dominance. Their 2025 season begins at home, with a fanbase eager for another shot at glory.
Returning stars like Mike Evans and Antoine Winfield Jr. bring experience, while younger players like running back Rachaad White and edge rusher YaYa Diaby are expected to take on bigger roles. The coaching staff has emphasized discipline, energy, and execution, and it’s showing.
The Bucs don’t have an easy schedule this season. With several tough opponents on the schedule, the road won’t be easy, but the energy around this team shows they’re ready for the challenge. They’ve been grinding, making smart roster moves, and showing they might just be the underdogs to watch in 2025.
“Yeah, the schedule’s not easy, but I think the Bucs are up for it. They’ve been putting in the work, made some smart roster moves, and there’s a lot of confidence around the team. Honestly, they’ve got that underdog vibe, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they shock some people this year.” Said Jimmy.
